WWW - wrist without watch

Its been quite a while (more than two years) since I stopped wearing a wrist watch.

"Time is merely numbers, with meanings attached to it."

That's what I realized about time, watch was just a device for me to make sure I prepared myself to the known challenges at known time. It was a constant reminder of the precious time that I am aware of spending use/less-full/ly. It was a piece of metal that helped me manage my duties.

What if there was no watch invented, would I be stranded from all that I am doing now? If watch was a device to make sure people manage their time precisely, why are so many people who are not able to achieve that in spite of wearing the costliest-prettiest-coolest one in their wrist.

I realized that watch was just becoming an excuse for me to fool around with my time, it was becoming my reason for being not punctual, it was becoming a burden that I was carrying all along yet do not clearly know why I am doing so. I decided to give it up. Began to manage time without a help of my watch, quite effectively. There has been occasion when I would turn upto my wrist to find only the white trace left behind by my watch, while I was wearing it.

I now felt that I had the entire time in the world to do what I was doing. I was no more bound between two numbers 1 and 12. I no more had to sleep for a fixed length, yet was never (almost) late to do whats expected of me. I now only eat when I am hungry, not when its time. I sleep when I am tired, not when the watch shows 10.

"Watching the watch every time, took a second out of my life. I am glad to have saved it."
